Monday's Legislative Day in TX

Examples of items under discussion or passed (this is not a comprehensive list), either in the past or present:

-Helmet law (in effect - revoked prior mandatory helmet law in Texas)

-New law (in effect in Texas) requiring foot pegs and strap/hand holds for you to be allowed to have a passenger ride with you... some riders may not even be aware, they're not legally allowed to take a passenger on their bikes anymore!

-Age restrictive/graduated motorcycle licensing programs (in effect/possibly future addl restrictions)

-Motorcycle Only Checkpoints/Safety Inspections (lawmakers are discussing allowing officers (many who've never rode), to be able to pull you over or have checkpoints, that only apply to motorcycles, and tell you about safety/check on "your safety"

There will also be other subject discussed... though it'll be a beautiful day, and we'd all like to be on the road, let's ensure we take 1 day or so out of 2 years (they meet every other year), to ensure we retain our riding freedoms and/or your voice is heard.

I thought there was a federal court ruling that stated motorcycle only checkpoints are illegal.
