OCTOBER BIKE OF THE MONTH VOTING IS NOW OPEN

1999 V Star 1100 custom

Year:1999
Make/Model:V-Star Custom
Eng size:1100
Modifications:6 deg Rake, Lowered 2 inches, added from fairing, and rear bags, New Front Fender, Modified Rear Fender.

I started this late winter, and completed it about 3 weeks ago, I made all of the brackets to attach the fairing and bags (street glide parts), by hand, a bit of trial and error.
For the rear fender I cut the original ABS BoB fender, and using a template i made, fiber glassed the skirted rear fender the bike has now. Also something I have never done before.
The paint is Hydrographics, which I also did myself, I had to learn to do it, build a tank large enough to dip the parts, learn to paint, and clear-coat. This was all built in my garage.

All processes I had to learn as I wend along.

2003 Road Star Silverado

Road Star Silverado
1600 cc

I built this bike from the frame up in February 2015 in 4 weeks. I rode it into the Hydrographics shop where I work and on Saturday and Sunday had it all torn down to a bare frame. This is the 1st motorcycle I have done from the frame up. I started out by sanding and painting the frame, swingarm and fork candy Brandywine. While the engine assembly was out I taped off all the chrome and painted the engine gloss black. I replaced ALL of the engine bolts with chrome allen heads. I installed a 21in DNA Mammoth 50 spoke wheel with dual rotors. I added chrome calipers and chrome allen bolts. Steel braided lines front and rear. I them Hydro dipped my open belt drive pulleys in Naughty boy pattern.

I painted Pearl white on all of the tins and dipped them in Vegas Baby pattern. After I did my tape out I painted the rest Candy Brandywine accented with silver and black stripe.

Tricky Air ride was installed in the back. Bad Dag stretched rear fender and 4 in stretch bags were added. A Harley front fender and fairing round out the front. All new chrome hand controls were added along with new grips. Contrast Brian Veney Design floorboards, bag latches and turn signal eliminators were also added. All stainless hardware was used in mounting.

I redid all of the wiring front to rear. Added Dyna 3000 ignition, carb mod, pumpless setup and K&N filter. All wire ties are chrome.

I know there is alot more but it would take some time to write it all. I love this Bike and will never sell it.

I suppose I should’ve written something about the bike ^

It’s a 2002 1100 Classic. I bought it almost 5-years ago with 11K on the odometer, and I currently have just over 43K miles.

The bike came with the Cobra exhaust, drag bars and upgraded grips. I added the Memphis Shades batwing with smoke lowers and the National Cycle Cruiseliner saddlebags. Bought both off of eBay, and had them color matched to the bike. I was actually able to find two-tone pin striping that matched the stock pin striping on the tank and fenders.

I also added 4.5 inch extensions to the floor boards, and the engine guard with Kuryakyn pegs. I had to make some adaptive hardware to accommodate the movement of the guard forward. The seat is (now) an Ultimate seat with backrest (not installed).

I recently added 7 inch LED (Truck light) headlight, 3.5 inch LED driving lights and an LED tail/brake light.

A few other touches are the chrome rack, chrome side covers, throttle lock, mirror extensions, and mount points for GPS and a drink holder on the bars. There is also a clock on the steering stem.

Finally, I added the SS Customs Chubby kit and Tim B’s PMS screws for a little more power.
