Hello everyone
I'm new to the forum and not yet a Star owner.
My son just bought a Raider ... I rode it and liked it so much I'm looking for one right now.
I can't decide whether to buy new and make mods - specifically exhaust - or to buy used with mods already made.
Is buying new worth the 1 yr warranty?

Thanks for input.

So whats ya waitin for eh? Get that Raider so that we can razz you about not posting pics, what you eat, why you chose pink as a colour..... Oh and formally welcome you to the forum ;)

I'm sure either way is the right way. On the one hand you get to do your own mods and the other someone has done it already. Doesn't mean you'll like them though. Let us know what you decide soon.

Ride safe, chose wisely and keep it shiny side up.

Welcome to the 4M! Yeah I know what you mean, i was hooked really bad after my first ride! Really, I'm just not sure why so may folks drive cars. I guess they just never had the chance to ride a motorcycle. For me it was just dollars. The Yamahas are just such great bikes that I went with used. I found a 2005 with only 1600 mile I'm feel like it is nearly good as new and I have some money left over for mods (;-{)>. As Corsair notes you really can't go wrong either way. It would be great to have a bike with zero miles on it, then again it's nice to still have a wife....

howdy. the 1yr warranty is to protect against any unforeseen defects since they should show up within the 1st year. if you find a used one with some mileage on it, and it's running well, then there are probably no factory defects on it at that point or they would have been noticed already. so i don't think the limited warranty should really matter that much
