Hello fellow strat. riders. I'm jason from south MS. i have a problem with my 07 stratoliner. it has been an issue since i purchased it new. I have purchased the pc3 and the patrick big air racing kit, and yamaha long drag pipes, these are the only mods i have done to the bike. the bike seems to be flooding at times to the point i think it is going to quit running and the fuel economy has dropped from abt 130 to 105 miles per tank. these issues started after i replaced the crossover gasket on the exhaust, before that the bike backfired extremely bad and did not seem to flood out. i had this exact same issue when i originally purchased the bike with the cobra fi2000 and the same pipes i have now.
I am assuming (and yes i know what that does) that i just do not have the pc3 mapped correctly for this setup. IF ANYONE HAS A MAPP OR INFO ON HOW TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM I WILL BE EXTREMELY GRATEFULL!! ANY PROVEN MAPPS FOR THIS SETUP???!!! There's no dyno machine within 100 miles of me.

Does sound like a mapping problem as it went from popping (usually too lean) to dripping (always too rich:)) as soon as you put in the electronics.

But I would wait on LinerDave, DieselDave, Fulltilt, the Brain to confirm or deny as they are the unquestioned Star Gut Gurus:):):)

And welcome:)

Welcome aboard JSC72! I actually grew up a little north of you in a little town called Magee. As my friend Springer stated, the brains of the operation should be along shortly to help out. You might also want to post the question in the engine section. Take care and keep the rubber side down.

If'n I was in your shoes, I'd:
1. Give a call into to PR and see if they know of a map that will be for, or close for your configuration.

2. Go onto a Road Star Raider Forum and see if anybody there has a map you can download.

C. do this

hold on!
Just found the link to FXStien's custom maps:

http://fxstein.com/blog/index.php?op=ViewAlbum&albumId=26&blogId=1

There is one there for the roadliner/stratoliner with PR BAK and Cobra staggereds - should be close enough to try,,,I would

Good luck, I'm hoping it solves or at least greatly improves things for you. Keep us posted please.

But just do one of our suggestions at a time and see which one takes care of things. In other words, don't run the new map at the same time you vote on BOTM because if you do that we'll never know which one solved the problem :D:D:D:D

Stratowart, I installed the mapp from his blog yesterday evening. It is def. a better map than what I had installed!! I purchased the pc3 from fuel moto and they set it up according my bike, looking at the 2 maps side by side there are MAJOR differences!! I have gone about 60 miles and have had no problem with the flooding issue at all, and the fuel mileage seems to have picked up greatly. Also, the 1 major problem I think everyone has had with the strat. ( the backfiring ) has been fixed!!
Again, thanks for the time and info! Greatly appreciated!
I also voted on the BOTM and after doing so I gained 5 mpg and 10 more HP.! LOL!
