Anyone else from VA Beach or the Hampton Roads area? I was wondering if there are any riders around here I can link up with. I'm a new rider and bought my 2001 V-Star 650 just over two months ago.
Welcome aboard.Congrats on the new to you scoot. Great bike that 650.I'm in the same boat with SparkyD not close to you sorry. But someone on the forum has got to be close.Hell SparkyD and I live 100 plus miles a part and we've gone on a ride and met at a bike rally for dinner. It's all because of this awsome forum. You will meet great people on here and find lots of info/help if you so need some.Ride safe and keep the shiny side up.
Thanks guys! I actually have a cousin that owns an '05 V-Star 1100 and he lives in Wisconsin (well, husband of my cousin). We've talked about linking up next summer and going for a cruise, whether I go up there or we meet halfway. Since I'm single and he and my cousin have two kids, I told him he didn't have to come down here.
I'm actually having an issue with my V-Star that I'm hoping someone can help me with--and hopefully I can find someone that lives nearby that can actually take a look at it before I drop another couple hundred or more at the shop. Basically, it's not going in gear. Runs fine in neutral, but once I put it in first it starts rattling and I can actually fully disengage the clutch without it stalling. My friend seems to think it's a tranny issue but he's no motorcycle expert. He was able to manually turn the driveshaft. Since I'm new to all of this, do any of you have an idea what may be wrong?
OH and I do have some family in Washington state as well, all mostly in the Seattle-Tacoma area. I try to visit them every few years and it's been just that long.
