Hey Guys,
My name is Gerry, and I currently ride a 2008 1300 midnight star, which I think in the US is a V star, if not I'm on on the wrong forum.I am very new to this type of bike as before I have ridden GSXR's and BMW 1200 GS adventure bikes and the like, but as the years catch up The 1300 is very comfortable and fairly quick. I have been riding all my life off and on starting with a Ducati 250 Desmo ( does anybody remember those, fantastic bikes) then moving through Honda,Suzuki,BMW and now a Yamaha, so now I join this forum hoping for advice and experience of previous and current riders.

Cheers
Gerry

Hi Gerry L
Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your time on here. These guys are very knowledgeable so if you have any problem just post up and someone will help you out I am sure. I think you are right the do call it a star in the USA and Canada but Midnight Star sounds much better to me (Who only rides a V Star 1100 imported from the states). Sorry guys but I have a good reason for not been on here for a while, I bind my bike on the approach to a roundabout Diesel on the road and did neither myself or the bike much good. I'm on the mend (Smashed my right leg up) but it is going to take time. The bike is repairable so may be asking questions myself :) but won't be riding until the summer months so plenty of time to get it sorted.
But I'm back now and will be looking in a bit more often I hope.

Ken,sorry to here about your mishap.Hope everything will mend by summer for you. We're not as young as we used to be.One good thing you and the bike have all winter to get back on the road.Take it easy and if you need help we are just a few key strokes away.
