Strat in my Future?

I have a 2007 Suzuki 83 I bought used a few months ago with 98 miles on it:p. I have been using it a good bit and have ecided I really would like a larger framed bike. I use it to commute to work and it is limited on storage capacity which makes taking a lunch, jacket, rain gear, etc a real pain. This time of year especially it can be i the thirties going to work and in the eighties coming home, so riding gear needs change drastically. Anyways, I came across the stratoliners and really, really like the styling of them. I haven't ridden one yet but am sold on the look and size. Seems to be just the mix I need between a tourer/bagger & muscle cruiser . On cycletrader, I have found a few NOS models from 2009 thru 2011 that are thousands lower then the list $17k on the 2012's & 2013s. Yamaha Star is offering customer cash on these models and I can't seem to find online what this cash is? Can it be used towards the price of the bike or is it only for buying accessories from the dealer with the bike purchase?

Thanks,

Jerry

Exactly why I got mine. 40 mpg on average, all the power and more that I need. Big motor and big frame for comfort, but surprisingly agile. I can go up any driveway, dirt/gravel road. Very comfortable. The V-twin is going to vibrate, but a LOT less than a Harley (never rode a Harley). To me it seems like a copy of the type of bike that is a Harley, but this one, is faster and won't break down ;)

I love mine, thought I could save more if I used this one for pleasure and buy a smaller one for work. Then I thought, I'll buy another Strat, and keep putting the work miles on this Strat. I didn't get the S, so I am good there, keep the new one with all the chrome out of the weather.

C'mon Stratowart and Stuntman, barticus73 has been asking if the cash return could be used to further discount on the price of the bike and not have to use the discounted cash on hand to spend on accessories. I think you 2 guys are a bit off the track relating to the question barticus73 had asked.

Use the Google... it's an awesome thing:

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/webpromo/currentpromos_details_cashback.aspx

When I bought mine a month ago all the dealer's prices already reflected the customer cash.
I had already found that chart showing the varying amounts of customer cash.....my question was, can this cash be applied towards the bike purchase or is it to be used to accessorize? I'm guessing from your final statement that it is used in the price of the bike.

A dealer about 150 miles from me has a 2009 NOS Stratoliner S listed at $10,800......does this seem reasonable? I also have another much closer dealer with a 2012 Strat deluxe they are actually uncrating this week and he listed it at $11,979. I figured there would be a bigger difference in the two prices is why I asked how the customer cash thing worked....Do these prices seem reasonable?

Sorry to hear that, I picked up my 2009 begging of this year with 200 miles on it for 8,900 with trade in and they still gave me the year warranty. No it wasn't a 2012, but they were going for 17.5k and this was still a new bike with 200 miles so I took it and never looked back. What a beast it has been. Well good luck with your ride hope you get a trade ya want and like.
