I'll be needing to replace the front tire soon (PO replaced the rear already) and I'm trying to figure out what I need.
I have a 2004 650 Classic, so I need a tire and someone to mount/balance it, I think it's a tube tired (spoked rims, right?) should I replace the tube as well?
Someone else may disagree but when unchanged my tires last time a friend of told me I should replace the tubes just because the can begin to break down over time and they may get damaged during the removal of the old tire. In the end he just asked wouldn't I rather know there's a new tube in there than take a chance. I put in new tubes.
On the spoked wheels there's a thick piece of rubber that goes around the inside of the wheel and covers where the spokes show inside. It helps protect the inner tube from chafing.
