Not just the bulb - the full headlight module. I'm looking at these 5.75 LED options but they don't have the mounting holes and are meant for buckets with trim rings. I imagine something could be rigged but I'm curious if this has been done yet.
I looked all over the place for an LED replacement. I was thinking that trucklite would have one out by now that fit the 950, but you may still have to wait awhile. I can see more and more bikes going to LED's all the way around.
if the LED bulb does not use a cooling fan, or some other form of heat dissipation, then it is a cheap toy. it doesnt make enough light. you need at least a CREE emitter .
I just bought this one to try. Only had it for a few days but I'm very impressed with the brightness. It's only a cheap one so if it doesn't last I'll go for a better quality LED. No way I'm ever going back to the old type.
It's still working good and I haven't had any issues. I don't ride much at night but I've taken a couple of trips on some dark roads just to try it and it's leaps and bounds over the stock bulb. There is a bit of a dark spot about 15 feet out but it's not a major issue. Also, the high beam doesn't light up any further down the road than low beam, which I find a little odd (maybe just a quirk of the LED bulb and the stock reflector?) but it does fill in that dark spot and spreads the beam out wider. I've tried the adjustment screws but it didn't seem to make much difference. For the price ($15.99) I'm happy with it and it's a definite improvement, but if I did a lot of night riding I'd probably upgrade to a better reflector.
