I am looking to do some clean up on my 06 vstar. I have put on V&H slip on exhaust and love the sound of the bike. I don't like the back fire that I know get. I am wanting to clean up the sound. I have seen a lot on the AIS removal systems, will this really do the job or am I still going to need to rejet?

Check here for instructions. If you do the temp one, be aware that in time it will rust out and leak causing other problems.

I removed mine on my 08 and it does not take long. I did the temp for a few days and then just removed it as it is kind of ugly.

I removed mine (ais) but also rejetted at same time of installing Shogun Ripsaw pipes. I get some cackling but I do love the sound.

I removed the whole system on my 1100 when I replaced the stock exhaust with a set of Hard Chrom pipes. No need to re jet unless you change the air filter to K&N. Also switch to reg gas to cut down on back firing.
