08 1100 VStar clutch slip

Greetings all,
I have an '08 1100. Within the first few months of buying this bike, I tried riding it in a couple of parades. Lots of stop and go...well very soon the clutch gets very loose, the handle floppy. I leave the parade, ride up the road a ways til it cools down some and everything is back to normal. I check and adjust the cable, top and bottom. All is normal til I try to practice some slow speed turns ( by the way, I ride with the Shriners Motor Patrol, parades are what we do.) I can get three or four turns in and the clutch starts going away. I'm doing nothing that any other rider does making maneuvers and nothing I haven't done on any other bike. Little back brake, little clutch, little throttle. The last Parade killed it completely and I barely made it home.
My question is...is there a better after market clutch, has anyone else had this problem?

Just a total guess here, brother, but what about your internal clutch adjustment? Have you taken the cover off and checked that? As I said 100% total guess, but hope it can help.:)
Clutch springs

I think this company has a heaver clutch spring.

Be sure you have some play in the clutch cable before it starts to move the clutch lever at the clutch end.

Here are some adjustments.

Oil

Forgot, probably not the problem but be sure you are not using any oil addatives or oil with friction reducers.

All adjustments top and bottom have been made as i said in the original post. Using only yamaha oil. I've been riding for over thirty years and never ran across such a sucky clutch before. I have friends with older models who have had no problems, but they don't ride half as much as I do. I put 30k on it just this last summer. It cruises well, it just wont work like a bike ...or any other clutch driven vehicle is supposed to in traffic. By the way...the brakes are just insanely, stupidly, thin brand new. I usually replace brakes when they get that thin.

Ah, the joys of profit for the company, I agree, the ones I have replaced on my old Virago look like they were worn out, brand new!And so it goes..........;)
