Yep...remove the AIS System and you'll be "PoP Free"
That's the site that I'd recommend to any newbies here that own a 650.....great folks there, and can help you with all kinds of mods. That's the one thing I miss moving up to the 950--I don't have as much reason to post there.AIS is Air Injection System. They inject a little air into the exhaust to burn off gas. When you change exhaust you get a little more popping. Some popping may be always there. It would be illegal for the dealer to change it.
Here is another source of info, no kit required. They move hoses and install marbles. I have also seen a kit on E Bay.

not to change the subject but what's your honest opinion on the Clevver you have installed....does the damn thing actually work?I removed the AIS from my old 1100 custom about a year after I bought it new. The main reason is because the AIS had a crack in the tube and leaked out some liquid when the bike was running. I ordered my AIS plugs from nopork.com and back in 2002 they recommended you apply some copper gasket sealant to the AIS plus before you put the plugs in. I can tell you that when I sold the bike last month those plugs were still sealed into the engine. I dunno why no one is telling you to do that now. I'd do it though.
