Biggest thing going to a full touring sized bike from a smaller bike was the parking lot, slow speed maneuvering. A heavier bike can easily get past the leaning point of falling over quickly and extremely difficult to catch once it does. Also, backing up on an incline can be challenging, always attempt to park where you are pulling straight out.
