Hello Everyone!

Long time rider here, though I've been hanging out in the Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager forums as that's been my ride since 2013 (50k miles). I still like the ride but ever since I've seen the first ad for the SVTC I've been infatuated with it.

Anyway, I'm hoping I can wrangle up the funds early next year and convince the wife (a die-hard harley rider) that the SVTC is the best ride for me.

I've been reading though pages and pages of topics where the line blurs between the rides (tires, accessories, pipes, etc) and I'm even more stoked to get on one of these. I've already got a few issues (gps, android pairing, tech stuff) I anticipate and thanks to the great info here, I'll be able to address those with a dealer once I get to that point.

Biggest interest I'll probably dig more for is tire wear. I know OEMs do terrible and I went darkside on my voyager (42k miles on the current rear, but it's ready for a change) and I'll likely put an MC tire back on it in anticipation I'll likely trade it in. Hopefully you all have found a good MC tire that will last a bit longer. I used to go 2up and pull a trailer a lot but with my daughter off to the military, I'll likely not be as hard on that rear tire and get many more trouble free miles out of whatever goes on after the OEM.

So, looking forward to doing more reading and learning from others experiences.

Take care!

Kevin

Welcome from Houston, Texas. Glad you joined us. I averaged over 20k on three sets of Michelin Commander IIs on my Vstar 1100. Currently have 7k on Michelin Commander IIs on my Electra Glide and they show very little wear. Here's a few interesting threads to check out when you get a chance.
