Last month here in South Australia we were lucky enough to have 2 long weekends, those being Easter and Anzac weekend. My wife and I loaded up our trusty '07 650 V-Star Classic and headed off to explore the mid-north of our State. On Easter Saturday we travelled to a tiny town called Lyndhurst which is starting to get into our "outback" country. Rode back to our accommodation that day - a total of 700 k"s (about 435 miles). Did a smaller ride on Sunday and back home on Monday. Saw some great wildlife, kangaroo's, a fox, wedge tail eagles, lizards and a flock of galah's (parrots) that flew up suddenly from the road side and almost took us out!!
The next weekend we travelled in a north westerly direction and visited many of our towns in that direction and back home via our main coastal highway. Did a combined total of just over 2300 k's (1428 miles). The bike perfomed faultlessly. Our legal speed limit on our main roads here is 110 k's per hour (68 mph) which the 650 purrs along nicely at. Would like to hear of some your riding experiences in your part of the world. Regards - Aussie, Adelaide, South Australia.
