Hi all from Abilene in the foothills of North central Republic of Texas.
I currently have a 2009 1300T with pull back handlebars, Ultimate Seats, painted saddlebags and tour pak. 2013 I rode the bike to Sturgis and made a 900 mile trip back in one day. Since then I have installed a replacement rear tire, switching back from the dark side to a larger profile 180/70-16 tire that has corrected my speedo error.
Last March I purchased a 2007 Nomad 1600 from my brother in law and rode it back from Mississippi. I added a Harley Tourpak, gutted the pipes and goat belly, adjusted the throttle sensor (.03vdc), and opened up the left side air cleaner. I'm now getting consistant mid 40's fuel mileage on highways and 39-42 around town. I like the pull and relaxed riding from the "Buick" but I also like the power of my "Porsche" v-star.
I have been looking at the Harleys but the fit just isn't there. I feel cramped on the bike even thought I'm only 67". The Road Star Silverado S has been on my mind of late and I was wondering why they haven't released the 2015 model yet? Is it possible Yamaha is finally joining the rest of the group and adding a 6th gear to their trannys?

Welcome to the forum eh. Buick, Porsche you do realize that this is a motorcycle forum and not a car forum ;). I'm with you in hoping that Yamaha is going to introduce a 6 speed tranny. I might just have to upgrade sooner than later. You'll quickly find that we have the best folks around, always willing to help and share their knowledge; some is even bike related :D. Post often, join in the fun and don't be shy tomask for help if you need it. Oh and post pics will ya.

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.

Re: Abilene

I was on a different PC so I wasn't able to upload any photos from my home server.
I should have my avatars and such updated in a bit. Thanks for the welcome.
