adding more lights to my 1300 v star

I got some LED lights to add to my bike..I want to add more tail lights and another brake light..My question is..Where is the best place to make the connections.I was thinking of connecting right into the wire at the tail light but wasn't sure how to run the wires..Or would I be better off using the fuse box for the connections...Thanks for any advice you have to offer..John In New York...
