Filter

My thought is no. My stock filter is paper. The get full of lots of small dust particles. I have blowen them out with compressed air, but I think the only real solution is replace it.

The K&N is permament filter designed to be cleaned.

i do plan on replacing the stock air filter with a K&N, and i hope i do not need to reJet the carb, but i would still like to know if its safe to wash out the stock filter untill i upgrade. So any info on needing to jet, and the washing thing would be nice.

Cost

If saving money is the goal, you will need to ride more than average and keep the bike for a while. Before you save any money by buying a K&N.
