Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I just purchased a 2008 Stratoliner. I also just installed a new D&D slip-on exhaust, Power Commander V, and AutoTune for PC5. I need to disable/remove the AIS system, but I have no idea where it is located on this machine?

Has anyone else done this on their Roadliner/Stratoliner? Any help and/or pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

AIS Removal

I'm not sure exactly what you need to remove but try this link.

Air Induction System (AIS) injects fresh oxygen at the exhaust port to insure complete combustion thereby reducing harmful exhaust emissions (HC & CO) while a special air cut valve reduces backfiring when decelerating or coasting off throttle.

I have seen a post on this but have not been able to find it. The complaint I hear is popping on deceleration. I don't believe AIS has much affect on performance since is simply injecting air into the exhaust. There is a post here dated 05-05-10 that deals somewhat with this subject but not removing it. Go to page 2 and take a look, It has a link to a good article dealing mostly with fuel management to solve the popping problem. Titled Popping and stalling.

Thanks Dave. I understand the AIS is simply an emissions system and doesn't affect performance. The problem I have is that with the PC5 AutoTune, you have to disable/plug the AIS in order to get accurate A/F Ratio numbers. I just don't know where it is on this bike, or if it even has one! I'm getting conflicting answers on this.

so the power commander V will fit on a 08 and the roadliner does not have a AIS system , its uses the o2 senser closeloop
