Smokey, you have been pure and true to the best! Wish Ol Sugar Bear could say the same, took him awhile to find the best:eek: but sure did get it after awhile. Hang tough and don't go branchin off to some of those that figger they are the only ride there is. You got the best and know it:D Ride Safe. (yeah, I like Yamaha a ton)

One of my favorite bikes was a 72 triumph 750 Trident with a Stein LS200 sidecar made in 1953. I still have the sidecar and one day may put it on my V star. I'm 65 and have bad joints, hips and knees, One day I might need it to hold up the bike. I've had too many bikes to list probably 16 or so.

No pictures, but my learner bike was a a 1987 Suzuki LS650 Savage. If you're not familiar with that model, its a one-cylinder bike that just barely counts as full-size. The whole thing probably didn't weigh more than 450 pounds. I'm 6'3'' and about 180 lbs so I looked a little funny on it, but it was great for feeling out the road. That was in 2009.
Late last year I sold it and purchased a 2007 vstar 100 classic. Must say I'm much happier on the bigger engine :D

Bummed and borrowed various Dirt Bikes as a kid
1977 BMW R100/7 - Not owned, but learned to ride on

Until recently we always had two, one for travelling, one for fun. My wife liked the sporty bikes, but rarely rode so I would put 80% of the miles on her bike goofing off in the canyons on weekends she didn't want to ride.

2000 BMW R1100RT (mine)
2004 Kawasaki Ninja 500 (wife)
2004 Honda Interceptor 800V4 (mine)
2006 Suzuki SV650S (wife) Fun in the canyons!
2006 BMW K1200S (mine) This thing was stupid fast.
2008 Suzuki Boulevard S83 (wife) I put most of the miles on it, got me into cruisers
2010 Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe (mine)

When I was younger, various dirt bikes.
1980 Honda CB650 Custom (with saddlebags and trunk)
1982 Honda CB650 A (with windshield and small front fairing)
2002 Honda Shadow ACE 750 (right off the showroom floor)
2000 Suzuki GSX-F Katana 600 (mid life crisis stage at 34)
2003 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic (love it)

The last three bikes were because of my wife. I would come home one day and she would say to me "come on, were going". Then it would be bought. I love riding and spending time on the open road. If I could just get it to stop raining for a bit. It has rained here for the last 10 days.

I feel your pain tanker. I was lucky enough to ride last week but the rain has been steady since Sunday night and is expected to stay until Friday night. It was supposed to rain all day Sunday so I didn't bring the bike out...turns out the weather man was wrong :eek:

My first two wheeler was a Vespa scooter. I was 18. Then a long dry spell until a crashed my Moto Guzi at 25. Then a´longer spell till the 1985 Honda 450, next a 2000 Kawasaki drifter 800cc, and then a 1993 Honda Goldwing and now a Yamaha 2003, 1100cc Silverado- All the best bikes have been bought, ridden and sold in Mexico. The Yamaha is not going anywhere without me on top. That´s the kind of guy I am. I been lucky in my life to have some of the best bikes ever made.
