Brighter headlights for a 1300
Any recommendations? I ride up in the mountains a lot.

What do like about them that's better than the stock bulbs?
why not just get replacement led headlight from ebay
Stock halogen are known for being inadequate. LED provide much greater illumination and these have a decent beam pattern. The high beam is not much brighter than low, so I seldom use it. That being said, I also have aux. fender lights and led passing lamps , but the headlight was the first change and it's better in the night and day.
I live in a small town by the coast I don't get big city lights on my way home. It's very dark at night just a matter whether it's just a dark night, a foggy dark night, or a miserable and rainy dark night. I'm curious to see which halogen bulbs will make an improvement over stock bulbs.why not just get replacement led headlight from ebay

I did an LED bulb replacement on my Road Star. It looked great when viewing the bike from the front. However I didn't think it really projected light and illuminated the dark roadway in the distance compared to the claims. Please give a report on how this light does if you do any night driving. I'm sure road signs will look much brighter as the color temp and reflective nature of the signs do make it brighter. But I'm looking at how much better the road surface ahead looks. I assume you are happy with itI went with this, much brighter than the stock bulb, I ride at night all the time on the way home from work and I am very pleased with this. I could not find an LED headlight that I was sure would fit so I just opted for an LED bulb instead. Just plugs right in. View attachment 126959
Yes, definitely happy with it.
I did a before and after at the parking lot at a football field. I measured 40 more feet forward of illumination with no adjusting the beam. I was concerned with loss of light due to leds are not full circle like standard halogen bulb, but it did give more distance. I also noticed the ditch had better coverage also.
