Anyone ever done this with success? I had a set of MAC Fat Stakkers for a CA vstar given to me. As far as I can tell from looking at frame drawings the only difference other than emissions b.s is the muffler mounting bracket (stay) which ,according to drawings, are interchangeable between the 2 models. So in theory if I get ahold of a muffler bracket for a CA model everything should be peachy.

Right?

Well I found the different bracket on ebay. Should be here in the next couple of days. The way it looks this should be all I need and the California pipes will fit like a glove.

Spent a few hours in the garage and got my new pipes on. Also picked up a baron big air kit and WOW what a sound. The new exhaust stay went right on and these "California" pipes fit like a glove!

Next up 16'' Wild 1 Chubby Ape Hangers

I wish Juarez was fun! We had to switch hotels last minute because the lobby/restaurant at the holiday inn got fire bombed last week!
About 20-some years ago, there was a bar just over the border in Juarez that had an "any coin night," where any coin would get you a beer. I had a buddy at Bliss that I visited several times when I was stationed at Ft. Sam. We'd get a few bucks worth of pesos, and get absolutely trashed for less than a dollar each. Fun times back then, but from what I've heard in recent years, you couldn't pay me to go to Juarez.

I was at Bliss in '01. They called it "Drink and Drown" then. They of course wanted the GIs in the clubs so they would all try to out bid each other. We would start walking up the strip and they would offer prices. Usually started about $10 all you can drink. We would keep wandering until someone dropped under $5. We went all the time before 9/11 then it got too hard to cross and too dangerous. The last time I was there a young private was about to get into it with a local. But he didn't see the guys gang of about 15 guys coming down from the balcony. I said time to go man, he said screw that I'm gonna mess this guy up. I no let's go. The local grabbed me, I thew a punch that knocked him across the table grabbed my buddy and ran. 4 other guys joined us and I said head for the border. One corporal turned and sprayed a bunch if guys chasing us down with pepper spray. It was quite a relief to see the racist boarder patrol at the gate. The crowd chasing us suddenly disappeared. Us older guys all knew the rule if someone says its time to go right now, you head for the border. I never went with the young privates again. I'm not sure we would have ever seen that guy again if I wasn't there. Fun times.

People never believe me when I tell them that Hawaii was the same way. And the privates were always the worst--18, fresh out of training and bullet-proof. You never get in a fight with just one local...

One of the riggers took us to a local "bar" last night. After a 20 minute drive out into the desert out of nowhere appeared a huge gravel lot with a building right in the middle of it that looked EXACTLY Like the tittie twister in from dusk till dawn. I was terrified. But the beers were cold, there was a band doing motley crue songs and there was 0 drama. I think we're going back tonight!
