I run Dimple magnetic drain plugs in my 2018 Yamaha Star Venture, I like the Dimple drain plugs because they are a very high quality piece and the magnets they use are very powerful.

My old Victory Cross Country Tour I bought a magnetic drain plug from a place called Witch Doctors but I ended up replacing it with a drain plug from Dimple.

The Witch Doctor drain plug the magnet was very weak and would not even hold up a normal size flat blade screw driver, the Dimple drain plug on the other hand would hold up a 1 1/4 Snap On wrench, the Witch Doctor magnetic drain plug would not even start to lift the wrench.

I have found the 113 C.I./1854 cc Yamaha V-Twin to be a very clean engine not producing a lot of small metal particles as evidenced by the Blackstone lab reports on the used oil samples I had done.

Those of you interested in a magnetic drain plug I recommend the Dimple magnetic drain plugs.

I remember this topic being discuss but I'd forgotten about it. Where did you source them from?

Thanks!

Thank you sir!
Here are the sizes you will need for the three drain plugs.

The two out of the crankcase are M14x1.5x12mm and the one out of the oil sump drain is M14x1.5x16mm.

When you go to the Dimple site go to drain plugs by thread size instead of motorcycles for the two M14x1.5x12mm drain plugs.

I don't see the M14x1.5x16mm drain plug listed any more on their site.

Here is a link to a site that has a Dimple M14x1.5x16mm
