So I got to thinking about this, and I showed the video to my wife. Being from Texas and in a truck he might not know what lane splitting is and that it is legal there. He might have seen you lane splitting, said to himself, well if that bike is going to run up the middle maybe he will find the cops, so I will haul ass around the side, the bike will get pulled over first. From what I could see in the video, he got back in a lane once he was in front of you. Unless that was just how it was edited. BTW love the songs.

I am not even sure if he was reacting to me or not, I never got the feeling from him that he was angry with me, when I looked over at him after the first time he passed on the shoulder he did not even look at me. That stretch of highway has horrible traffic in the afternoons and until about 30 yards before where the video began there is a car-pool lane. He had most likely been driving in pretty bad traffic for a few miles before I even saw him.

Once I caught him at the end of the video and got close just to make sure I grabbed a shot of the plate I did not see him again as I exited to a different highway.

Just to give an idea of the traffic, if I had taken my car that day and driven the same route, the traffic would of made my 34 mile commute from work to home about 1.5 hours.

Being able to split I maintain a 40mph average, you can't see it because I sped the video up so much but when splitting my speed goes from 25 - 55 depending on the flow of the cars, I am constantly adjusting my speed, on the bike I normally get home in 40-45 min.

What is most odd to me is I clearly recall seeing a white Ford Explorer with "CA EXEMPT" plates on it in the number 1 lane as I traveled, but perhaps that was not law enforcement that would do anything about it, or it could of been fire department, it was not really a marked car. If there had been a CHP I would of never known what this guy was doing behind me.

I know guys who do that all the time in cars and on bikes. The best way to get a flat and a ticket. Sometimes on special days even lose a mirror.
Right!?! There is so much debris on the shoulder, no telling what you might run over doing that.

Was he crying?

When you need a shoulder to cry on
I really sympathize ♪♫♫♪
