Any 950 owners experiencing top end engine noise.
Just recently my bike has become very noisy in the top end.
My suspicions are valves & lifters,I have checked the oil level,that's fine.
What does anyone think,my bike is due for 10,000km service,so I'd like to get some opions on this before I take it in.

never rode a 950 but both my 650 and 1100 had noisy tappets. seems lots of v star owners noticed this

Noise's

V twins seem to have lots of suspicious noise. Its hard to say from here though. If you can listen to another bike like yours might be your best choice. Most people that have their valves checked find little or no adjustmnet. Trouble is it takes a couple of hours to get to them.

I once had an "expert" tell me my bike had valve noise. I think he was hearing the air intake. So I don't listen to the bike or people. Specially if they ride a quiet bike.
