Hello. I have a few tendencies that I can't seem to kick. One I show up late to parties and I like to find neglected and abused things and bring them home.

I haven't had a bike in 11 years but have been riding since I was 9 so that makes this the longest period of my life without one. I don't know how I did it? I must have been really happy.

The therapy I get from riding a bike is not equalled in any way. I love to crawl around inside my head while heading down the road.

On Thursday I bought a 2002 V Star 650 Classic. Only 3600 miles. BUT she had been left outside for the past 4 years and barely ridden. I got her for a fair price and cleaned her up. It's great to back on two wheels. My mind feels clearer already.

I'm in showbiz. Right now it's a bad business to be in but that will change.

I'm looking for parts so if you have any stock stuff I may be interested. I'll find the proper forum for that. Great to meet all of you.

My friends call me Ted.

Welcome to the 4M.

....I love to crawl around inside my head while heading down the road.
Well most of us here have done that and we can't find a damn thing. :D

And if you decide to give uo Show Business and rob a bank, then you'll be in the Hiding Business.

The revered book of newb will help you in your quest.;)

One of the quest you will go on, I'm sure, will be the post the pic quest. The way to enlightenment is found on page 269 of chap 1 in para 101. It is said that "All newbs that bring home abused things by paying cab fare for them and are in the showbiz rather than the hidding biz, shall post pics of their ride regardless of thier present state." It is also written that "this is to be done with a clear mind after riding for a few moments of heading down the road." :)

Welcome to the forum, post often and enjoy being on two wheels.

it's nice to give cab fare for ride home to those abused things you bring home[/QUOTE]

Or at least offer breakfast.

Thank you for the kind welcome. I'll try to figure out the pic thing but right now she is stock. So it's not very hard to imagine. Black.

My son unexpectedly came home to live with me so I needed a third form of transportation that was cheap. I wanted a bigger bike but said son wants his motorcycle license so I got something he could learn on. He's been riding on dirt since he was a tot too but the street is less forgiving.

I'm really impressed with the bike so far. I should put two new tires, since they look original, but am going to start with the front first. Nickel and diming her for now.

As for cab fare, I normally keep those things I bring home till they want to leave. Then they have to find their own way. I feel like I'm in the hiding business right now. Not many shows on the books. Going to go ride and forget about that for now.

Well then: Hello, Rotten!!:D:D:D

Welcome to where the lunatic fringe are the reasonable ones...

We have our own professional entertainment here as well. When things get really slow we call in our "Blue Man Group" led by Stratowart. It's not what I'd call fast-paced entertainment, but it is entertainment...:D:D:D

Hey Ted, welcome to the bored! :) One mans trash, it rings true all the time! I have in the past brought some things home that maybe I didn't really want to ride, but I can't say I've ever offered them to my son!

That 650 is a very capable and very fun scoot! I put almost 16,000 miles on mine in 2 1/2 riding seasons and I enjoyed every mile!

I think I'm in love with it actually. I do think on the highway @ 70mph I'd rather have something larger but otherwise she is fun.

I have reservations letting my son ride it but we will do what we have to.

She cleaned up nice with the exception of the wire tubing. It's wrecked. Half silver half baked brown. Need to see if I can hide the wires. I read up on the tutorials but they looked different than my bike.
