Floorboard & Shift Peg Advice Needed

2063 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  stevea
I just installed Yamaha rider floorboards on my 1100 Custom. Since it's mid-winter here in Boston, all I could do was sit on the bike to see how they felt. One possible problem I see is that I seem to have very little room to fit the toe of my boot under the shift peg, especially when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Being new to floorboards, I do not know if there are extensions, adapters or other options that will make it easier to get my toe under the shift peg. I'm 5'9" with relatively short legs, so forward controls may not help me. What I need is something that will either raise or move (or extend) the shift peg so that I can get my toe under it easier.

just need to adjust you shift linkage. I have a heel toe shifter on my bike, but comeing from a sporty bike i still preffer to shift with my toe so i dont use my heel shifter so i just ajusted the linkage to fit my foot under the thing better.

TinyBear, I agree with your fix, it's a quick and easy thing to do, I too use toe shift only.:)
Sugar & Tiny....the fix you suggest is what I have heard from others. It will be what I will do that solve my problem. Thanks!
