Anyone who has already replaced the starter clutch... how free/hard does the starter clutch gear turn for you?

I took it apart because the starter clutch was turning freely without engaging the engine when I tried to start the bike..indicating starter clutch failure...

I put it back together and it seems that the starter clutch engages properly .. only allowing it to turn one way... but its very hard to turn..

I'm not sure if its suppose to be that way or its suppose to turn freely/easily...

should turn fairly hard one way and not at all the other way. If I remember right it is a sprag clutch and if they are too loose they will start slipping and destroy themselves quickly. The only reason for them to slip at all is to relieve pressure to allow disengagement.

It was slipping .. so i took it apart and put it back together and its working fine.. in lieu of me getting a new starter clutch altogether.. but it was hard to turn... but i can feel it catch with a little click going to the oppsoite way and not turn.. putting it back together now i'll update on how it works
