Hello,

I've been lurking around for about two years and finally registered. I'm the proud owner of a 2005 Vstar 1100 Classic. Probably, no make that IS, the best bike I 've ever owned. Below is the list:

1. 1986 Honda 500 Interceptor
2. 1986 (?) Kawasaki 1000R Ninja
3. 1990 Yamaha XT 600
4. 1988 Yamaha FJ 1200
5. 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 750
6. 1999 Buell X1 Lightning (please don't ask about this one, very unpleasant memories) :(
7. 1998 Kawasaki ZX 11 D8
8. 2005 Vstar 1100 Classic

Live in the Conroe area for those of you in the Houston/Harris county.

Welcome from the Memphis,TN area! Nice list of bikes there. But the last bike you bought is the best!

how'd you like that Buell X1 Lightning?

I'm sure Buell tightened up their quality control with the new aluminum framed machines, but the Lightning I owned had more problems that I could write about on here. Was also unlucky/lucky once; in that I hit a large lab running across the highway one Sunday afternoon. The damage done was to a front rotor (bent) and brand new carbon fiber chin spoiler (broken into several pieces). Lucky in the fact that I did NOT put the bike down going at least 100 mph! That's why I cruise the back roads at around 50-60 mph these days.:)

Too bad HD pulled the plug on them, but I see Erik Buell has a new $45,000 sportbike out now that competes with the newest Ducati 1198. But realistically, it's not Italian exotica and can never truly compete with the Italian maker....at least in my opinion.
