easy peasey. i would do a google search. i made my own a couple years ago a couple resistors and a set screw to plug the hole.

Go to the WKb under carb jetting.

removing the oring allows fuel to fill the bowl faster. when going to pods and increasing the jetting you need more fuel and removing the oring allows fuel to pass. backfire is caused by fuel lighting off in the exhaust. a carb problem could let to much fuel thru. or a lean condition can cause fuel to build up and pop. did you recently change the exhaust?
