thank you.......that is something to definitely keep in mind and check during oil changes there!
So I just checked mine on an /04 with 10,000KM and found them unacceptably loose, mechanic speaking. I put the red locktite to them.If you haven't checked the screws on the bottom of your gas cap recently, please go out and do it! These things are notorious for coming loose and having all the guts of your cap falling inside the tank.
Thanks for the post, I also checked mine and got about a 1/4 turn on them before tight. So I just checked mine on an /04 with 10,000KM and found them unacceptably loose, mechanic speaking. I put the red locktite to them.
When I bought my '03 silverado last fall I quickly realized that not only was one screw loose, the other one was missing. And one of the lock flanges that open and close was missing as well. Bought another cap (used) and took it apart to canibilize and used locktight to get it all tight and secure. Wonder if the missing parts are in my gas tank. How would I know? Any potential for damage? Thanks for the post, I also checked mine and got about a 1/4 turn on them before tight.
Mine was not yet completely apart, so I had some control. So if it has already fallen apart, how does one put it all back together? I have not been able to find a schematic for the gas cap.
