The general consensus among motorcycle safety and instructional organizations is to keep a bike in gear while waiting at intersections to provide a means of making a fast escape if someone is about to hit you from behind. Most of us try to abide by this rule and hold the clutch in, but sometimes the length and frequency of the wait make for a tired, cramped and sore left hand, especially in city traffic.
The Clevver clutch lever not only increases the size of the friction zone, but also decreases the amount of pull necessary to disengage the clutch by 33%. The reduction in pull is not a huge difference, but is very noticeable when in heavy traffic.
