This is what I found

RES-TECH Drags. New for 2007! RES-TECH exhaust systems feature large 3" diameter mufflers constructed with Hard-Krome's RES-TECH (Reduced Exhaust Sound TECHnology) patent pending. Using RES-TECH muffler cartridges to reduce exhaust sound to an acceptable level, they maintain good aftermarket performance. RES-TECH are our lowest sound exhaust systems.

Our mission was to invent a muffler system that had the lowest sound yet retained the highest power in every measurable facet of performance. The end result of our work had to be clearly observable as better than any muffler system used in the past, by motorcycle riders around the world. Our R&D team genuinely exceeded our goals. We honestly feel that this is the best muffler system on the market today.

What is a RES-TECH cartridge? First, we use the largest diameter muffler body on the market. Next, we use the absolutely longest muffler possible. However using a large volume muffler is only the first step. The RES-TECH cartridge is about 3 times longer than most contemporary mufflers.

We then thoroughly tested all of the louvered baffle and perforated core designs available. We went with the lowest sound/ highest power ratio combination that we could find. Then we use, multiple layers of several sound absorbing materials, tightly wrapped around the RES-TECH core and compressed into a lightweight extremely thin wall tube. Finally we seal the unit together. This is the "cartridge".

In the past, you compromised either sound or performance. Now with Hard Krome RES-TECH muffler systems you can have the best of both worlds. Only RES-TECH (Reduced Exhaust Sound TECHnology) cartridges will enable you to have a high performance / reduced sound exhaust system.

I'd like to see some pictures.
I'd LOVE to hear some sound clips.

I also need an education on what RES actually means. I undersatnd it is "Reduced Exhaust Sound" but just wondering how much louder it is over the stock exhaust.[/quote]

Wart, found this clip on youtube, I think it is the same system according to the comment underneath. Sounds really sweet without maybe annoying the neighbours too much.

I've got the HK 3" Big Straights on my bike and what I did was added a set of those Smart Partz baffles. It really took a lot of the rasp out of the exhaust note and also increased the back pressure for that lower end torque. I loved the pipes in the beginning but after about 30K I had enough and found it annoying so I installed the baffles. While I love the sound of a vtwin with split pipes, if I was to buy another it would definately be one of the V&H 2 into 1's for the extra kick. I kind of dig the look of that new megaphone exhaust.

I'm running the V&H 2 into 1 and love it....just enough growl to get you noticed while cruising, and when you torque it others know you're there!

I'm sorry to say it's going to be a while now but I'll definately keep you in mind. I had planned to service my forks with some fresh oil and seals this year, but instead, I just bought a new suspension set up and it's being shipped from Sweden. Ohlins is offering up some sweet prices that are just too good to pass up. With tax return money in hand that should have paid down some debt, I went in that direction. Rear spring w/remote adjuster for $525, new front springs offered at $100, and for extra measures I threw in the Race Tech GVE's.
