Hello all From Australia, Just bought a 2000 Yamaha xvs1100a classic a few days ago to go along side my other bike a 2017 triumph tiger 1050 sport. It Needs a couple of minor thing to be done before I can get it registered, otherwise it’s in pretty good condition with 54000km on the clock.

keep the shiny side up.

2 things.

FIRST: always, always, A.L.W.A.Y.S. start the XVS1100 bikes with your INDEX FINGER ONLY. Done like pushing a doorbell. Straight index finger.
Twisting the throttle before/during starting can destroy the starter clutch !!!
Unless I am confusing the 1100 with the 950. I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong.

Second: not sure about the 1100 series, but the 650's are still sold NEW "down under".

Why does that matter? PARTS. 'nuff said.
