Greetings all, I am a new member from just south of San Antonio and have been a rider since the early 80's. My first bike was a Yamaha Maxim 550 and now I'm a fan of the Star cruisers and have a 2007 V-Star 1300 Tourer. I rode a 950 Tourer for about 6 months and put lots of upgrades on it trying to make it more than it was but ended up going ahead and trading up to the 1300 and I'm am glad I did. Will be posting some of the upgrades for the 950T I removed before trading it in the classifieds section soon if anyone is looking for some slightly used things like slip-on exhaust, fuel management controller, air intake, larger windshield, custom rider seat (that stock seat is terrible) etc... for the 950T. What else, I'm a veteran - served in the ARMY from 84-87, I am a certified SCUBA diver since 1983, I have an RV and love to travel. Fixing to go ride the Ozarks in Arkansas with a buddy in a couple weeks while our wives go to Vegas.

Welcome to the forum eh. What a great intro you gave, BUT, you didn't post pics of your bike :). I'm ex Air Force myself so thank you for your service. Make sure you study Bevo's lesson on the 950 and then pass the test he gives. If you don't, you'll have to wait a while before taking it again. Make sure you post often, ask all the questions you have except the ones on the best oil, tires, seats, exhaust ..... :D :D :D. And I've heard that you have the best armadillo slow cooker recipe; so share that with Bevo.

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.

Thank you ... and some pics

Thanks for the warm welcome. Here are a few pics of the 950T I recently traded in. I should have some good pics of the 1300 after the Ozarks ride next week.
