I am having a issue with my 01 1100 vstar. I have replaced the start clutch, starter, battery, and the solenoid,. I can't find the reason it won't turn over all I get is a clicking sound. The funny part is every once and awhile il will turn over ( if it has set for weeks upon weeks). If anyone has any ideas I am all ears.

Start simple- check/clean the main battery ground on the frame. Welcome to the forum and good luck.

Also look at the contact attached to the spring under the starter switch,this also can cause your exact problem
