On the 650, you hold the cap and tug!
Yes, same on an 1100 Classic, it's a little tight, but they pull off, rubber grommets like hold them tight. On the 650, you hold the cap and tug!
Buddy, I'm not sure what kind of engine guards you've got on there....but, removing the floorboard must have been just to get the guard off; it's no where NEAR the plug! When I did mine recently I had to remove the seat and lift the tank a bit to get enough clearence to get the chrome caps off. Then I had to remove the left engine guard and floorboard to get room for the spark plug socket and extention with a swivel joint just to get the front plug out.
Thanks for getting back.My origonal post was 2 years ago and since then Ive learned to loosen the top bolts for the engine guard and pull the crome cap off the front plug and use long needle nose pliers to pop the plug wire off. The engine guard I think is OEM as it was on the bike when I bought it used from the original owner. I guess maybe my fingers are too fat to get in to tight spaces so now when I remove the tank to clean the K&N filters{chubby kit} I check and clean or replace the plugs as needed.
As it appears you found out.........it's hard to tell which look is best!I just added 4 new pics to my album. 3 different looks in 3 years.
