High revs - CDI ? or TPS? or who knows what

click on where it says how to test and adjust the TPS.... If the engine is loping the idle is to low. its a balanced motor. if the tps readings are a little off you can change slightly by turning the idle knob.

you don't know what the previous owner did. check the valve adjustment..... it's easy to get the carb sinc out, go thru the carbs what jets are in it how many turns on the pms screws....how does the wiring look all over unmolested?
 
tps changes the timing it probably doesnt effect the racing idle.a lot of people talked about racing rpms not making any sense, but never a solution.. maybe carb sinc has something to do with it. idk.
 
what could cause the rpms to increase. the only electrical device attached to the carbs are the carb heaters and the tps, the tps has no way of turning the throttle shaft... maybe the throttle cable is hanging up. or a vacumn leak.
