I'm sorry I know this question has probably been asked multiple times. But i am trying to locate a way to attach a highway bar to my 05 1100 custom that has 3 inch control extensions installed, or find a highway bar that will fit that configuration. If any one has any info or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking for a while now and all I have found is a post from a few years back where a guy made brackets to instal a highway bar but he didn't give any specifications on the bracket. Thanks Guys!

Do yourself a favor, only take enough money for what ya think ya need. They got about $6k from me over the years! Needless to say they were always "Happy" to see me:D

I had the same issue. My 1100 has 4" extensions and for the life of me I could not find anyone that made a bar to fit extended controls. In my search I found someone on here that had made brackets to make them fit. I'm sorry but I have no idea who that was and I just checked I have deleted all our PMs that had pics and such. I don't currently have any pics of mine but can get you a few if you wish.
I installed the OE two piece bars. To install I attached the lower mounts to the boards then rotated them to where the top would mount the closest. I then used a piece of clear plexiglas to make templates for the upper brackets. Once I had a template that worked I had some 3/16 plate cut then I shaped and drilled it where necessary. A coat of black spray paint and some chrome nuts and bolts and its all good. It took a little trial and error but all in all not too bad. The new upper holes will need to be located a little forward and higher than the current mount holes.
Only real issue I had was my lower deflectors would hit the bars so I had to remove them. The leg comfort gained was more than the wind comfort lost. Any other help I can offer is here for the asking. Ask me here or shoot me a PM. I'll do all I can for ya.

Redcat for some reason the picture of your brackets doesn't work anymore. I guess the link is broken...can you repost if you don't mind. I bought a used engine guard on eBay on the cheap and would like to see how to attach them. Thanks

Thanks man hopefully this works on mine...it's a one piece. I'm thinking I'll have to make a bottom bracket as well.

I think the bottom will be fine. Although mine's two piece, I'm pretty sure if you start by bolting it in at the bottom, the top will "fall out" where it now wants to be. Then make your custom brackets for the top. My extensions were the 4.5 inch from Scootworks. Yours at 3" are going to be closer from the get go.
