I just got a V Star 1100, but I don't know which model. It has had some custom work done on it and the rear fender looks nothing like the user guides.

What is the best way to identify the model I have?

Well according to the VIN it is an 1100/A. I don't know what that '/A' signifies though.

Looks lilke someone who had it before, put on a custom parts kit for the fenders and such. I do like it though! Freakin loud compared to the Goldwing.

The Saddlebags need permanent mounting. I don't think I will have need to use the removal feature of the bags.

what is a sure tell sign that they have been jetted? I don't quite understand that yet, but I have seen the kits.

It would be hard to tell if its been jetted from the outside. First do you have any throttle problems, any position 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 etc. Check the sparkplug color. Your bike looks like it has aftermarket pipes on it and some kind of air cleaner change. If it still has the stock airbox under the tank it really didn't change the intake flow that much. Here's a link to some carb and good other info. Look under the Performance for some detailed info on jetting and your carbs in general.
