Been keeping mine outside covered for 14 years in Texas, never had that happen. However, it hasn't been in a hurricane or tornado.

I sure can see how that could happen when I lived in SW Oklahoma it the wind came from the stand side. We regularly had some very high velocity straight winds. They were known to take roofs off of houses on occasion.

I bet others from the plains states have similar stories.

I was woken up by the wind at 5 o'clock this morning and promptly ran outside and took the cover off my bike. There's quite a gale passing through Baltimore and I'm sure my bike would've blown over if the cover remained on it.

How big a gusts were you getting?
I ask because I've had the cover on Big Bertha 50+mph gusts. Granted she weighs 755lbs.

The gusts were at least 50mph, maybe up to 70. My 650 custom weighs I think 475ish

Yeah... An additional 300lbs can make a difference.
