I have an '07 custom 1100 and have bought a clock which fits over the 27mm nut between the handlbar risers.The nut needs to be turned about a quarter of a turn so the clock will fit level.Is there a problem doing this and which way should I turn it ?

I don't know what type of clock you have, but I have a stem mount (the same type you are referring to) clock from clocks4bikes on my 1100. When I installed it, I removed the insert (the actual clock part) from the mount first, secured the mount on the nut, and then replaced the insert so it was properly aligned.

Thank you Don Bar,I didn't realize the insert was removeable !
A classic example of doing the job then reading the instructions.
