Hello,

I've recently purchased an '09 V Star 650 Classic and just joined this forum. Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and I've been riding for over 38 years now. If I have counted right, this is bike number 26.

Welcome from another Ontario, resident. Great group here, enjoy their knowledge. Got a few more riding years on you but don't think I've reached 26 bikes yet, close but not there yet.

Welcome to the gang. I'm not to far away from you on the other side of the river. The 650 is one sweet ride and it has lots of perma grin performance. A word of advice. Hurry up and post some pics of it before the hoards of pic whores descend on you. Another thing. If you are windering about mods for it; just give us your CC info and we'll take care of the rest for you. This way you won't have to worry about it. See how nice we are ;). Make sure you go and visit the Canadian forum on here and chime in.

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.

I bought the bike used last month and despite being a 2009 it had only 2,937 kms on the clock. I'm up to almost 4,000 today and the more I ride the more I like. One of the first things I did was to remove the ugly warning labels on the gas tank. There was also a Yamaha sticker on the rear fender that was almost impossible to see that was removed. The original dealer had also put on two stickers and those are gone too. Paint is two tone silver and the bike has a tinted windscreen and the chrome front fork lowers.

I just drove to Belleville and back and the one thing I could use is saddlebags. I'd like the bolt-on type but there are so many it's tough to choose but I do like the locking types as sold by Viking Bags but not sure what size to get.

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum. You posted those great looking pics just in time. The pic whores Corsair mentioned were gathering up! We are a full service forum. You supply your cc# info to Corsair, Annie orders your parts, and Bevo and I deliver, and the rest of the gang helps with the installs. Like Corsair said, you don't have to worry about it! Ride safe and post often.

Sold the VStar 650 yesterday and looks like another bike isn't in the plans for the near future. Pretty bummed that I'm on the friggin bus now, but that's life I guess. Be safe and keep the rubber side down.
