I am probably attempting the impossible if you only read the title, but I would like to increase the wife's comfort on her 950T. As she is quite short, with very short legs, I would like to move the floorboards back a little. I see Barons has a longboard with quite a bit of adjustability. Has anybody had experience with these? Currently, when she sits on bike, her legs are almost straightened out while riding. This has caused another problem whereas she has actually burned and blistered the inner thigh on her left leg from the cylinder head/cover. My thinking is, if I can move her leg back a little, it will cause her knee to be bent slightly and raise it away from engine. If not, I will have to make some kind of heat shield for her as this has happened twice now and it is cutting into our riding enjoyment. I appreciate any thoughts or comments!! Thanks!!

I think she'd be way more comfortable on a vstar 650 holding the handlebars. But it would be a more expensive fix for sure :)

Actually, she had a 650 classic but wanted something with a little more power for passing and interstate cruising. She sat on the 950 and fell in love, but we just couldn't afford it. 3 months later, a little old lady ran over her 650 while it was parked outside of her work and that opened the door for the 950. She absolutely loves it and has never complained, even when it blistered her leg, but if I can make it more comfortable, then the farther we can ride. We are hoping to do a week long trip to the Smoky Mountains this year with some family, and I want her to enjoy it.

Cheesy, I missed that it was her bike! Very cool. I loved my 650 too but totally agree it was a little underpowered for passing on the highway and I ended up selling it and buying a roadstar. It sucks being short, it really does close off a lot of bikes. I found some river road boots that give me another inch of height and they help a lot for my overall comfort too. I put risers on the roadstar which was another big improvement but am also considering another set of bars. We have some fun lady riders here - get your wife to come on the site too :).

Do they have any seats that sit lower in the saddle? I know when I switched to my mustang day tripper it dropped me a good 1.5 to 2 inches closer to terra ferma on my 1100 it was a little weird being closer to the ground for me but it was nice going into turns with a little lower center of gravity. Also, I have seen a few people in the past cut off their controls and weld them in with brackets an inch or so further back. This my not be the prime example but if it works then great. Ive never seen anything to move it closer back just further out on the market.

I sent a check off to 04ctd for the modified 950 seat he had advertised. After more discussion with the wife, this may help a couple of issues...hopefully have it by the end of the week!! Thank you to all who responded and I will update with her opinion as soon as we get some riding weather here!!

Cheesy - would love to see some before and after pics of her on the bike on the old seat and new. Hope it is a great solution!

This is in the comfort area, I just ordered for my wife a Mustang passanger Sissy bar pad. It replaces the stock pad, it's wider and higher. I haven't received it yet, supposed to arrive Thurs, she always liked the larger pads that come with some of the big cruisers.
