Just joined up and thought I'd post up a little info.

My main bike is a VTX1800R which stands for Retro. Has the deep fenders and fat tires.

So, when I saw this 2006 V-Star classic I couldn't pass it up. Looks like a scaled down version of my big bike.

I'm enjoying the smaller bike and as with anything want to know more about the brand and model.

I live in Central Missouri and love riding around here. I also enjoy modding anything with a motor. I do most my own work and enjoy it.

I have my garage set up for fab work and enjoy playing in it.

I'm always up for a ride, be it on a bike or trail in my lifted golf cart.

Welcome to the forum from north ms there dawg, your 650 is smokin! Love the bars on it. I'm not all that far from you, so I know you have some great areas to ride in. Glad you joined us.

Thanks Keith...... I got a smokin deal on it too. It needed work on the tank from a lay down so I got it for $700. I have the tank repaired now and am in the process of painting the bike yellow. It's the wife's favorite color and maybe then she will let me keep two bikes.

You did get a great deal, just proves there's still some good deals out there. Be sure to post some pics after its painted. I'm fortunate in that my wife likes biking nearly as much as I do. As soon as I complete my bobber project, a cafe racer build will be next and then I'll be good.

That's cool Keith....... My wife used to hate bikes. When we got married she said only one rule, "No Motorcycles!" When I brought the first one home she wasn't happy, but did ok with it. Even bought me the repair manual for it for Christmas that year.

The second one, didn't say a peep. But I did tell her I bought it too sell and make some $$$. Don't know how to tell her I want to keep it. LOL

Be as casual as you can about it. Maybe she'll learn to ride the 650 after its painted yellow.

I gotcha, I'd say go slow and give her some time. Once you've painted the 650 and start getting compliments, she may change her mind.

She's ok now with me having a bike. Well, somewhat. Sharing stories wouldn't help any either. She just does not think them safe.

I'm as safe a rider as possible, pay extra attention any time riding and wear a helmet, even if not required where I may be. So she just tells me to be careful now!
