I posted this in the V Star forum too. I have read every thread on here that I can find regarding exhaust mods (hole drilling, Phelps baffle removal, and slash cut/gut). I would really like to hear from those who have been running these mods for a while and what they think of them now. Has anyone had to rejet after these mods? Loss of power? I am saving up for new pipes but would like to do the Phelps mod now to get me by.

It's pretty kick ass. Drilled out the final baffles and didn't put the recommended baffle pipe back in. Loud! Nice cackling on decelleration. Pretty happy with it. No more sewing machine sound.

No rejet. I have pulled the plugs every tank of gas for 4 tanks now. I don't see any change in color that would indicate a hot running condition. For $25 I got great sound without dropping $300 on exhaust. Sounds like a deal to me.
