More important than top-end...

As is in most cases, expressway speeds easily run 80-85 mph. Unless you want to be run over.

The Vulcan 900 Custom struggles at 80 mph (in my opinion).

What about the Raider 1900?

I really want my next bike to laugh at long 85-90 mph runs.

I was aware of the question. From the few magazine tests I have found the Raider ought to top out somewhere around 125 mph. I was pointing out that one does not need 1900 cc of engine displacement to maintain highway speeds.

You could cruise all day at 90 as far as the engine is concerned. I get anywhere from 36 mpg(hauling a$$) to 43 mpg (highway at 65). Over 10 k of riding my average is 39mpg.
I do have mods:
K&N air filter with Ivans bracket
Freedom Performance SCR pipes
Ivan Flash
Power commander with Ivans map

Not proud of this but I got pretty upset while in Tennessee. Stock raider except the Cobra Fi2000R fuel manager and freedom exhaust. I was running between 90 to 110mph the entire way. Pretty smooth on the eway home to Cincinnati. I rode a lot of bikes but I love the raider.
