Hi. I Just bought a used 2008 roadliner last week and am loving it. This is my first bike, if you don't count the Honda CB350 I had 30 years ago. I'm amazed how far cycles have come since I last rode and really enjoy my new scoot. I already picked up alot of good info from you guys by reading through your posts. Today I changed my engine oil after reading how you guys have done it in the past. Good stuff. thanks. Now I'm already kicking around ideas for custom mods since the bike is completely stock. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Sugar Bear,

Yes, the weather here in Jacksonville is almost perfect for riding this week. A little crisp but nothing a to complain about. I tried wearing a perforated leather jacket on A1A along the beach last weekend but that was a little too chilly since I have no windshield or fairing. I noticed that the mid-west and north are getting another blizzard this week. bummer.

Hi farmalldanzil

Big leap is so right. We have to take a 2 day motorcycle training course here in florida and get a special "motorcycle endorsement" for our drivers license. In this course I re-learned riding on a kawasaki 125 and was really nervous about jumping to a big bike. However, the roadliner is so well behaved it made the transition easy. My friends roll their eyes when I tell them it's my first bike but it was love at first sight.

No silly, I TOLD you I ride alone: I'm Hans Solo:D:D:D

Probably did come off a bit mysterious, eh? Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL is home to naval aviation's Maritime Patrol squadrons and the training squadron. RAG (Replacement Air Group) is what they used to call the training squadron and it was numbered "VP-30". In all naval aviation units, squadrons identify their type aircraft and mission using a combination of letters and numbers. the "V" stands for "Fixed Wing" (as opposed to helicopters who are rotary wing "H"). The "P" stands for "Patrol", and the number is assigned by someone in Norfolk, VA who's paid extravagant sums of money to come up with a system to keep the squadrons uniquely identified:D

Most folks that live around Jacksonville are well familiar with the Navy's presence and nomenclature and I made that rash assumption with the newcomer:)
