What Every New Owner of a V Star 1100 Should / Must Do: Starting Off the Right Way
sites.google.com
Noticed in your bikes picture that the mufflers are very blued. This is a sign of a very lean running engine. Something I would address quickly. Here's a few intesting threads to check out when you get a chance:
Each spring there are many riders trying to wake their bike up from a winter nap or new to them rides and are having issues. There's a many here who will share their experience in an attempt to get you safely on the road. A few things that really help us is your location and some bike details...
This is an idea I have seen on another forum, and it seemed like a lot of fun if enough people participate. This forum has more than enough activity that it should take off. The basic idea is this; while riding find certain objects or signs or whatever to take a pic of your bike in front of...
That was from the previous owner. Bike got complete tune up after I purchased it. It only had 483 miles when I bout it. It’s got about 800 now. The only issue is when I hit highway speeds it starts sputtering but I read that it is the carb vent hose. I am going to try to figure something out for it.
Oh, that is really sad to hear As bike lovers, I think we can all relate to the pride and satisfaction he felt as he bought and added things he felt would upgrade his ride, dreaming of the rides to come in the years to follow. And then to be robbed of it all. Cruel.
Very nice! Not a fan of the studded stuff myself but to each their own. I think you have a vision of what you want to do with the bike. Chopping the fenders and maybe bobbing it out??? Good luck. Keep us posted!
I learned something today! Vicla. That is the first time I have heard that term but I have seen them. Now I know. Thanks! I like the look btw. But I am too old for something like that! Enjoy!
I had to look it up too. For the rest if you...
The term Vicla is a slang term for a style of motorcycle. Typically you see a lot of Softails with this style. It is like having a 1964 Chevy Impala and either making it a muscle car or lowrider, as to having a Road King and making it a bagger or Vicla. The traditional style Vicla will have a 21" spoke rim, white walls, long fishtails, chrome accessories, etching, stretched bags and fender, custom leather, high apes or low beach bars and a custom lowrider style paint job. The style originated in California but has now spread across the United States, we even see a large amount of them in other countries such as Japan. Each and every Vicla has its own unique style and flavor but one thing we can guarantee is its always easy to spot one from the crowd and its always a Harley Davidson. Our most popular Vicla handle bars are the Maddogger and Beach Bar. Plus most people who run the meat hook style will want the Shield engine guard and Anarchy bag guard to match. Here is a few links and some resources to help you learn more.
Yes!!! Thank you for letting everyone know the details. I’m in love with that style. I can not afford a Harley at the moment so my yami will do till I can purchase a third bike 🚲 😁 I ordered 16” apes today. Will get the cables soon and the highway passing light bar for the front. Unfortunately I can not find fishtail pipes that will fit my bike, so it won’t be a complete vicla style but it will do the job! If anyone knows where I can get fishtail pipes for my 1100 please, share. Love this community thanks everyone for welcoming me to the party!
Not my style at all, but the good thing is that we live in a free world (well, at least we in the West) and can go for the style we want, without worrying about what others think. Viclas, a totally new term to me as well, reminds me as the American answer to the Japanese Bosozoku - individual style that's over time grown into some kind of conformity.
Welcome from Wisconsin, sorry i missed your intro i was out of town on vacation. I have an 01 1100 classic my self. Mine has going on 36ooo miles. Yours isn't even close to broken in. Glad you stopped by stop by often
