Hey, new guy here from Joplin, MO. I enjoy riding my 02 V Star 650 Classic every chance I get. Some of my favorite rides are MO 90 to Eureka Springs, AR through Mark Twain National Forest, around Grand Lake, OK, and Stockton Lake, MO. I've owned the 650 for about a year and a half and have had no complaints for the 10k miles I've put on it so far other than my local dealer doesn't seem to have the best technicians and parts aren't readily available. Hence the reason I'm here. I hope to learn a few thing about my machine and get to know some folks along the way.

Welcome from where ever i might be.

Gaijin is right, a wealth of knowledge about your bike is here. If you can't find any answers from previous post, then just ask kindly and many good people will answer. Beware of those that refuse to accept the truth about black bikes being fastest

If I had a buck for every time I've heard" my wife/ mom rides a 650" I'd be able to afford the Raider! Lol. In fact I actually think pretty highly of the bike and have had a lot of good times on it. I can't wait to customize it. I'm thinking gangster fenders, V&H short shots, Baron BAK, mini apes, 1" rear drop, twisted or diamond cut spokes, etc. The list could go on forever as I'm sure some of you know. My favorite thing about the bike is the way people's jaw drop when I tell them that its "only" a 650. The only drawback is the high rpms on the highway.

Well welcome to the fun house Marine! Semper Fi and OohRah from a fellow Marine. This is truly a great place for information, help and even a few laughs. Was just talking to a friend today about how nice it would be to have some open roads to ride, too many cagers around here.

Semper Fi and keep the rubber side down!

Ooh Rah!!!! I know all to well about the cagers. Last Sunday I rode 475 miles or so out in the open country back roads. Only the last few or so were planned due to trying to find my way home! It's a blast. Me and some buddies are planning a ride to Deals Gap next spring. 5 days of bikes, Bros, and the road. Gonna conquer the Dragon while we're out there.
